Our students are ready for the next step on their English-language journey. Created to provide
insight into our students’ English communication skills, the TOEFL Junior tests enable us to make the
best decisions about placement and progress, and help us guide our students to reach their full
potential.
The tests are designed to:
- assess the academic and social English-language proficiency of young students
- provide a snapshot of each student’s ability in listening, reading and speaking
- support teaching and learning by giving information about students' abilities in relation to a widely accepted international standard

The TOEFL Junior Standard Test and the TOEFL Junior Speaking Test measure different English-
language skills, but both provide reliable administration and scoring and feature scores mapped to
CEFR levels. Plus, TOEFL Junior Standard reading scores are matched to MetaMetrics ® Lexile ®
measures so you can help students choose books at the right reading level to improve their English
reading proficiency.
