The 12th graders of SMAN 99 Jakarta are debating on American Civil War. The left side is the Affirmative while the right side is the Negative. They are arguing whether the statement of Mark Twain’s on the American Civil War as “Nothing but Stupid War” is acceptable or not. This debating is part of the movie program assignments taken from the movie “Free State of Jones” fascinated by the excellent Matthew McConaughey’s cast as the leading actor, depicting The American Civil War itself. Debating is one of our best curricula which is able to produce our students to possess critical, analytical thinking as well as problem solving.
